installation view of making waves instead #3

The pattern, used earlier as a floor relief (waves instead #2), returns here in the form of a wool blanket, woven on a self-built loom. The design of the pattern is mine and started out as a quick sketch. I have used this pattern several times now (using always the shaky first sketched design).
I am fascinated by languages, sign systems, that are a first attempt at communicating something, by a visual language that finds itself somewhere between a very idiosyncratic, almost a private language, and pure abstraction.
